New Arc’teryx Beta SL Jacket M

Light, packable Gore-Tex protection from the brand that set the standard for technical shells.Arc’teryx was founded in 1989 by Dave Lane in Canada’s Coast Mountains, where rainforest-level rain is part of daily life. The name comes from the Archaeopteryx, one of the earliest known birds, which is why the logo is a fossil bird and why fans call themselves “Dead Bird” fans. The Beta line is Arc’teryx’s all-round mountain range, and “SL” stands for Superlight. The Beta SL was designed for packable emergency weather protection. Older versions combined 2-layer Gore-Tex Paclite with tougher Gore-Tex in high-wear areas. In 2020 it was updated to Paclite Plus and renamed the Beta SL Hybrid, and Arc’teryx later replaced it with the Zeta SL.It weighs about 300 grams and packs down small enough to forget it’s in your bag until the weather turns. It’s great for hiking, travel and everyday wear in the city.
